Sitting in my office getting on with next week’s Council agenda and issues raised with me both when I was out talking to residents on Saturday and also via social media and email, it's actually been quite quiet, possibly everyone is on holiday or hiding from the heat:
• Got the council to cut back the jungle around the playpark at Laurel Park — small changes, big difference for local kids. 
• Reported the brambles and nettles on the paths around Hawkedon Primary and Flamborough Path — they’ve now all been cut back.
• Offered support to a Wokingham resident asking for improved pedestrian access while the South Wokingham roadworks are ongoing — at the moment, people face a two-mile detour.
• Provided advice to a resident in my ward about planning and licensing requirements for Houses in Multiple Occupation.
• Chased up repeat fly tipping in a local bin and asked the council to make sure that the perpetrators were identified and appropriately dealt with.
• Rejected a suggestion from the Council that they would redact councillors’ addresses from the website, I prefer people to know I live in Earley.
• Investigated and responded to a query regarding barrier changes on Elm Lane cycleway.
• Arranged to meet someone regarding the move of the natural history museum to Shinfield
• Helped a resident request some double yellow lines to prevent dangerous parking under a flyover.
• Offered help to residents who have issues with LED lights shining in their windows – there are baffles available, and the power of the lights can be reduced.
I attended the Armed Forces Day flag raising and started a petition to provide improved parking for matchday access to Laurel Park without having to drive down Marefield and other surrounding residential roads.
I also met the CEO of Reading FC again and had a very interesting chat about the issues they face and how I can help them with planning and highways, and I sent them some practical information.
